SpringFlower: Can u share which state/city your FP is scheduled in? I think people in crowded places like Bay area, CA get FPs later than less crowded areas.
We got FP notices for me & my wife on 01-25-08. Finger printing date is Feb 6th, 2008. Same date, same time for both of us. Just perfect!
We filed our I-485 application/EAD/AP on July 6th, 2007.
Ours is a transferred case (NSS-CSC-NSC).
Did not open any service request.
Looks like they started processing transferred cases.

I never saw him talking +ve about legal immgration, he is an anti-immigrant.
Attacking Lou Dobbs will help those who purposefully blur the distinction between legal and illegal immigrants. While Dobbs sometimes talks about H1Bs, his main focus is on illegal immigration and he's mostly sympathetic to legal immigration, in my opinion.

I am exploring the possibility of making the Inter-filing. I have been speaking to some well known, street-smart attornies. One mentioned that the "Priority Date" is decided only upon approval of I-140. He also wrote that for keeping the earlier priority date, the 2nd I-140 application (new) should be filed along with copy of the approval of the first I-140.
In your case, it appears that you did not send the approval copy of the first I-140 along with 2nd I-140 application.
Probably, you can send the approval of EB-2 I-140 with earlier PD, along with I-485 receipt copy to the Service Center and ask them to allot the earlier PD. Please take the assistance of attorney for doing this.

The service request is usually a waste of time. They will send a generic response to everyone when case is pending w/o visa numbers. I and almost all of my friends received a response that additional information was needed for processing your case and hence additional delay blah blah.. I think this guy just decided to use security message for your responses. I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to really check this, you can definitely make an appointment at local office and talk to the IO there. But it was even a bigger waste of time in my case. The IO at local office looked at his system/systems and told me that if it is a green card application its faster(just another month or so) and if it is a h visa there is a few month delay:confused: Go figure..

I called USCIS customer service regarding the DOB mistake in the AP application.
Here is what they suggested � No need to file another AP or revoke the current application as USCIS already has my correct DOB data based on past applications and they will note the mistake and can match it with the correct one because it is the second time I am applying for AP.
So while sending my documents, I am simply going to add a letter pointing the error in my DOB.

There is a petition to capture lost visa. If lost visas are recaptured, there will be some relief.
At least that would definetely help. Apparently over the past 5 years they have lost 180,000 visas just becuase.

Only a regular Lou Dobbs watcher will know, Lou never read a negative message posted by audiance on his show, and he will read only those messages who are racist, and literally hates immigrants.
My experience is sending messages to the person whom we are going to target won't help. We need to counter attack using a different and equally powerful channel. The negative comments we post on Lou Dobbs and CNN are never posted or maybe never read to the end.

Its a small good news. I got similar status update last year sometime in Aug/Sept before my I-485 was finally approved around end of Sept '08. My case was originally filed at CSC and then was transferred to NSC. I got this message when NSC finally picked up my transferred case, dusted it off an (I'm guessing) input it in their system. Most likely your cases went the similar route and now they have been finally picked up by the destination center for processing.
I hope that would be the case. But cannot expect much thinking realistically.

i dont have any hope in December bulletin, waiting for next year.
Anyways, I hope all of us should get out of this mess ASAP.
