Presenting copies of your documents to government officials is not PERSONAL use. You could argue that. Personal use is if you would be playing monopoly with copies of your documents with your friends. But if you make a copy of US document for the intent to present to US official and not to misrepresent the original document, it is not "personal use" and it is not illegal. That's why lawyers are suggesting making and having copies.

I go against this idea, because this doesn't work out logistically.
First as others pointed out traffic will be way less as soon as IV charges,
second, what would be the cut-off? $5 or $100? So if person who paid $5 might get the same privileges as guys who paid $1000? Is it fair, then you need to come up with normal, premium membership etc..
Third, as soon as you make people pay, they become more demanding as they need to know where their each cents have been spent. I guess then IV core member needs to answer questions related to this more than actual issues

As needhelp said earlier, the damage is done. This is really shameful on the part of CNN. Maybe its a coordinated effort by the Lou Dobbs production team to equate our issues with H1B. This philosophy trickles down and freelance writers end up subscribing to that ideology giving betsy ross and her hateful group a nice platform for them to launch their attacks on us or spread even more misinformation.

We need to identify these posters and the messages - maybe it all comes from one user posting the same set of stock messages with different names.

In the new year, I have not seen any posts expalining how IV is "working" on resolving our issues. All that is posted now is requests for money. I know more money is needed and would be glad to contribute, if only the senior members show that some serious efforts are being made in the background. Yes IV did do very good work last year, but that is history now; but what work is going on now, nobody knows. Don't need details, but even broad details will help. Is something being done for appropriation bills, no one knows or tells.
For example, after the elections no attempts virtually no attempts have been done to do webfax campaign tragetted towards pro-immigration inclined politicians. No lists have been made of such politicians. Just by waking up few days before the bills are discussed is not going to help.
Persistence, patience, hard work, financial support, timing and combined efforts with one voice representing us will pay off! Lets all do our part. I feel I don't have skills to be in the front, taking initiatives, talking to people, volunteering my time. We must salute all that IV is doing, whatever little we can, we should support to make those efforts multiple folds. If we don't believe in the cause or the people, we fail. If you read a few threads closely you will find out, IV cannot publicly post all the efforts or progress being made, you cannot publish a game plan that everyone can read and groups working against IV can muscle in their amendments. I totally understand doubts when the going gets tough, but hangin there and all of us do our part, not just the money alone! IF you have the skills to volunteer and organize things, contact the core group too, everything they can get is valuable.

If I-140 has been certified OR application has already been submitted, then maybe you DO need a employment letter - to prove that the job is still available.
If I-140 and 485 are being submitted concurrently, then OBVIOUSLY there is a job offer (thats part of the reason the I-140 is filed by company) and maybe the employment letter is not required.
My thoughts.

I've been current since July, 2010 and got RFE on Sept 10, 2010. I don't have letter with me as yet to know about RFE.
Before I got REF email, I waited for few weeks then tried followings:
1) Took infopass : Officer sent email to expedite.
2) Wrote to Senator: got reply they would get reply in 60-90 days
3) Sent an email via attorney to TSC: got automated response.

That's bull. Online at top-rated university costs as much as full-time but definitely not more. Most of the top-notch universities don't even differentiate in-state and out-of-state. M.B.A is a money printing machine for them. Assistantships, in full-time schools, are very few and scarce and competition for them is pretty high. I have friends going to Darden School of Business as full-time students and they are paying close to $70k in fee alone. Add to this the cost of living, books etc. Times are pretty bad now and few of them couldnot even get internships for this summer and few who got had had their offers rescinded. For full-time school you have to consider something called "Opportunity Cost". There was a article in Businessweek which mentioned that a Harvard full-time M.B.A will take 15 years to break-even on his M.B.A investment. The reason for this is that he will be spending $80k on fee alone, another $20-30k for living expenses for 2 years, another 10-20k in books and other expenses. At the same time he would have lost on a average $160-200k in 2 year salary and benefits. Combines together it adds upto $300k which can be invested at average 6% interest, if you are a savvy investor, and get good returns. Assuming a Harvard M.B.A graduate on a average make $120k out-of-school if would take 15 years for him to break-even even with all the increments and bonuses.

I remember there was a proposal to give one Green Card per family to eliminate the retrogression for EB categories. I don't know what happen to that. It was like one year ago or so.

most of the Cherry Blossom related rush will be only on weekends. April 4th and 5th falls on weekday so we have to face traffic and rush related to weekday. Also, 4th is Monday which is little less traffic (no to great extend though) due some federal people gets deferred workday. But for sure Tuesday (April 5th ) will be super rush day, all we need to do is plan to get in after morning rush hour and get out before/after evening rush hour.
Just wanted to make sure that the organizers are aware that the 4/4 and 4/5 dates will fall in the middle of Cherry Blossom Festival in DC and specifically in and around the national mall. Travel and stay could get little expensive. Just wanted to make sure that this gets on to the radar. On the more positive note, lots of IV members will get a chance to visit DC during the most beautiful time of the year. Will attend anyways and will spread the word.

Now a days we are seeing more threads related to spill over allocation interpretation etc, but I have not seen any single post by IV Core about this. I am from EB3 community and share the frustration among others.
I see a lot of people suggesting to port from EB3 to EB2, instead of wasting time on these discussions. Well, porting is not an option for most of us. It is either because we are working for big companies (who do not want to extra burden) or not able to find a small company which can help us.

Past week, I made this comment and some people made fun of it. But, it's turning out to be true. They are now fully focusing on EB3 and I think they will continue to do untill they finish all Eb3. Once they reached last quarter then they will make EB2-I/C current and distribute those spill-over visas across EB. They don't have to make EB3-ROW current to give some spill-over to EB3-I. What ever will be left at the end of quarter will be spilled across EB's.
They will do what ever They want to do ..They will take decssions based on them .. They may spill ..They may not spill ...They may suffer ..They may not suffer ..They may left over ..They may not left over ..
Where They can be DOS,USCIS,Applicant or Numbers
