How about taking out US Masters off all the queues for a while, that will as well speed up the GC process for others. :D:D
Come on guys. Just because CIR is in question for few more months people are coming up with their own agenda. I will come up with my own, how about seperate quota for the folks came in Year 2001 because we faced lot of struggles to keep the job during the bad market.

So much for so called "highly skilled". Young guys out there, in their 20s....think twice about making America your permanent home. Right now, it is very discouraging.
It is sad. When you call USCIS to get some information, its almost like we are hitting against an Iron wall. They dont give out any information except read from a standard text. They could as well have some automated machine to read those out.
I just want to know if there is an official explanation for the delay in EAD renewal from USCIS. Wonder why it takes that long when they already have all our 'janamkundli' with them.

The general issues still are true.

1. His salary CAN be raised.
2. His wife CAN work, as article mentions that he applied for GC in 2004
3. I never heard about 1 million - I guess we were talking about 140000 unused visas right? Where this 1 million came from?
4. If the company is bought - one doesn't generally reapply for GC.
Even little lies don't serve a good cause as this article can be easily discredited.

Like it or not, USA want diversity;), they not want to be a second Indian, Asian, Mexican, African, European etc country.
And one way to try to manage this is by country limits.
The "diversity" is a celebrated argument in USA. However, it takes a backseat when doling out amnesty. And "justice" is also important, and you can't sacrifice something as important as Justice for "diversity", which is just a long-term-point-of-view concept

31st is a working day for me, if 180th day is 31st than does the employer lose the ability to revoke 140 from the 31st or 1st?, Does it mean than USCIS should receive revokation request by 31st or that the request can be postmarked by the 180th day?

This is relevant because some of us have EAD which is legal authorization to work (restricted though) or spouses have EADs (unrestricted). Placing barriers like US citizens only or Greencard holders only is discriminatory.

Chip locks which are normally used against terrorists and criminals are used
on students of tri valley univeristy.
It's a human rights, privacy issue at it's peak..
It's heart breaking to see like this..
There may be scam from students, university but it's also problem from consulate, USCIS etc.
This is ridiculous..

What I don't get is where they got that the Sept 18 rally will see 5000 of us attending? That's way too little guys, we need at least double that!
Will we even have 5000 people??? I will be (pleasantly) surprised if we do!
Too bad most of us think this rally is a waste of time. I hope they wake up and realize that doing nothing and waiting for their GCs will be an even bigger waste of time if they lose their job 3 years down the line!

this is absurd, why would wire transferring money have immigration officer visit the candidate, if they dont want to give us GCs then most people will continue to transfer money.

But I have situation where in I need your inputs to decide.
I am working at a clients place and they willing offer me a full time position.
My Labor is approved Oct 2007 and Filed for I-140 receipt pending.
In this situation should I change my job or should I wait for I 140 to be approved or wait till I apply for I 485 , but as you know the priority dates have retrogressed for EB2 and I heard that they will be unavailable shortly.
I always wanted to get a full time right from my Masters but ended up as a consultant as I had to get my H1 done.
Please Advice!
You cannot change employer and keep I-140 if you have not filed I-485 yet. You will have to start the GC process anew if you change the jobs now. So wait untill you apply for I-485. Wait 180 more days after that and you are free to change jobs if your new job is same or similar to your current job.
