We have applied for our AP renewal on 05/09 at NSC. I have noticed online status change to our I131s today with the following message. Is this a RFE? if so, what could be the RFE for AP? Your help and input appreciated.

guys cool down it took them till end of May about 2 months to issue all receipt notices for H1 filed on Apr 2 this year. With the whole yes-no-yes situation this month they are definitely backlogged. Lets just wait till we actually get the receipts .

you mean there is no freedom in India??? 80-90% of the indians who have H1 have not attended college in US and do you think these people are not educated and knowledgeable. I think you should grow up man... or might be when you get sick and get admitted in hospital and your insurance doesn't cover... you realize the importance of India...

The 2nd thing, if you are out of job for quite sometime, which itself is scary, on top of that, all your savings evaporate quickly.
In India, you can live without job for an year, without too much impact on your personal life and your finances. Insurance issues... we are fine in India..

I am still waiting to see what my RFE was for.
I had another LUD today as well (2/17) (also had one on 2/10, 2/13). wife only had 2/10 and 2/13.

I Still Believe in USCIS for the GC and the H1B Processing for giving me a fair chance to particpate, eventhough its a Lottery ( more or less like that for GC Processing also, although its not an "official" thing), because if GC was processed from India, i know that half of the people will come with an MP's, and MLA's recommentation, another group will come with distant relatives in USCIS( to approve their cases faster) and another group would bribe the officials to get it. Poor people like me who dosent have any of these will wait for a GC or H1B forever. Its only because in US when we stand in a Queue or line, we see the FIFO, we expect the same from USCIS also

We are not sure of the chronology of events such as your wife's pregnancy, Your job change, your insurance start date. If you guys had individual insurance before your wife's conceiving, insurance cannot deny coverage as pre existing condition. Make sure you put these events in a time line and rule out the possibility of coverage. if you have done so, you have to explore other options.

This basicalkly means that too many cases are stuck in name check at I 140 and I 485 stage or that USCIS is not processing as fast as it ought to.
To give you an ex I have a friend with PD of Dec 1998 (original case not substitution) whose I 485 is stuck in name check., My friend is not a Muslim. There could be many others too.
What does this mean? That there are not as many approved labor cases as anticipated originally by the USCIS????

Recent discussions have indicated that both the Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) and the Department of Labor still have a significant amount of cases in their backlog reduction efforts. As a result, the anticipated increase in demand has not yet materialized and may not for some time. Lol, they can.....and they'll charge like $200/hr for everything w/o H-1s willing to be relocated at moments notice.....the industry can't afford to pay someone higher just because they are 'American' if it is not profitable for them......leads back to the original point....

Thus the law is clearly not enforceable with the means available to DOL, USCIS or DOS. No doubt, there are very competent, high paid consultants on H1-B. If they were 90% of the people, we wouldn't be having this conversation. The situation in all likelihood is reversed (only a small percentage of consultants on H1-B are really competent and highly paid). Removing the privilege of H1-B from consultancies will remedy a lot of real and perception problems of H1-B at one go.

I called too. They told me that NSC needs 2 month to process it--presumably, getting the FP notice out to me.

No she cant becuase her visa appointment is on Aug 13.
If her visa app. is Aug 13 (I assume it is at a consulate in your home country), she will not get her passport with visa stamped for atleast a few days. This is from FAQ section of chennai consulate in India. So plan accordingly.
When will I get my passport after the interview?
If you qualify for a visa, the passport with the visa will be returned to you by courier in a few days.
Can I get my passport immediately after the interview?
It is the policy of the Consulate to send your visa to you using our courier service.
