It is not fair to shout at him unless u understand the issue bereft of any emotions.
I think the AZ is the right thing to force illegal immigrants out of AZ since its bringing the economy down to its knees.
Moreover the AZ law is excatly the same as the current Federal law, its just that AZ is implementing it thru a state law, so why shd the feds object to it.
If you folks think that AZ law is wrong then why should other sanctuary states who prevent illegals from been sent back be allowed to pre-empt the fed law , even these states should be challenged.

Agreed 100%. Last year I was part of this lottery system, had a genuine job offer but was not lucky enough to be selected in the lottery. I know so many people who were lucky to get thru the lottery but are still hunting for jobs.

Very glad to see that these people have been caught by the law enforcement agents. These are the people who care candidates for EB1 category for greencards. As most of these join the fake IT bodyshops and show multinational executive experience on their resume. This is not the only university where you see people from Andhra Pradesh misusing law, there are many universities in the same business. I hope to see more enforement like this. I wish the USCIS and other related agencies crack down on the misuse of credential in the greencard process. Most of the IT people with fake experience and reporting structure should be punished for violating law and legitimate people with US education should get their right place in the waiting list.
My wife is on H4 visa and looking for opportunities. She gets calls from all these consultant who ask her to get on to F1 visa at some community college and then use CPT/OPT for working on their projects.....when i came to this country to study at a top ranked university, i thought F1 visa is for higher education...now it is used in community colleges. New learning everyday!!

A bill that would give millions of illegal aliens in the United States the opportunity to earn citizenship is closer to becoming law today as members of the Senate Judiciary Committee signaled likely passage of a proposal by Sens. Edward Kenney, D-Mass., and John McCain, R-Ariz.
Though a committee vote will not be held until after a week-long congressional recess, likely March 27, committee members appeared ready to back the Kennedy-McCain bill.
"The votes are there," said Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa.
Congress is working to pass a reform bill that includes enforcement, a policy on dealing with illegals already in the country and a guest-worker program pushed by President Bush.
Under the legislation, illegal aliens in the United States would obtain six-year nonimmigrant visas under which they could work in the country and travel outside the country. The aliens would have to pay a $1,000 fine and undergo background checks.
After six years, the aliens would be able to meet certain requirements and then apply for a green card, or permanent residency.
Besides voting on the bill after the recess, committee Chairman Arlen Specter, R-Pa., said the panel also would vote on a bill by Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., that would give illegal aliens up to five years to leave the U.S. After returning home, they could then apply to return, either as temporary workers or for permanent residency.
"Our intention is not to strand anyone outside the country," Kyl said, according to an AP report. But he asserted the McCain-Kennedy plan would give an illegal alien allowed to stay and work in the country a "huge advantage" over a person having to wait for years in his or her own country for a green card.
The McCain-Kennedy bill would start off with offering 400,000 of the new visas.
Two years ago, Bush proposed a guest-worker program that has been criticized by immigration-reform advocates as nothing more than an amnesty program for foreigners who entered the United States illegally.

the person whose posts some are objecting to is not a moderator. he is expressing his own opinions. i'm quite amazed that he has been labeled one or put at par with moderators/administrators by some here.
this is indeed an information sharing forum although that's not all it is. i'm sorry the initial poster never got a reasonable reply. really should have.
as for contribution etc, iv or any moderator is not pushing anyone let alone rudely or being abusive for anything. but lest we all forget, this forum exists because this is a grassroots organization with a commitment to removing retrogression. if that goal gets lost in tourism to the forums, then the forums too will be lost too and very soon. just a gentle reminder for you oh so gentle folks!

* According to the withdrawn USCIS FAQ on FBI Name Check Backlog I-485 case new adjudication policy after 180 days of name check request, they estimated the total eligible 485 cases at 46,000 or something. Now, according to the AILA Q&A with the USCIS HQ Service Center Operation office on February 20, 2008, the Service Centers located approximatlely 10,000 cases that were waiting name checks only and they estimated that there would be additional 15,000 cases that would fit the new policy. There is no specific timeline announced, but there are some indications that these cases may be adjudicated from one month to approximately three or four months. It appears that the USCIS is mindful of the potential EB visa number retrogression and may want to adjudicate these cases as soon as possible.

I'm done. I posted whatever I had on WhiteHouse.gov and wrote to my Senator. I think the strength is in numbers - so the effectiveness of this depends on the number of people that write in - Even if people dont include their personal stories, just the fact that you will include your address when you write to your senator makes it personal. Just my 2 cents!!!

What you are saying I understand. And many american/GC holders work as independent contractors on 1099. But H1B is never designed for independent contractor (1099). H1B is designed as W2. By using percentage basis H1B consultants are trying to work like independent contractor on 1099. USCIS is trying to crack down on that.

May be the data that were made available through USCIS Home Page (http://www.uscis.gov) (http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/New%20Structure/3rd%20Level%20(Left%20Nav%20Children)/Green%20Card%20-%203rd%20Level/Pending%20Form%20I485%20Reports.pdf) already gave some hint on how the PD's are going to be in the monthly VB's and most people understand the number and are not predicting any good movement and not posting any on threads like this. Only the luckly EB2-I folks, who are getting a good chunk of the numbers for now thorugh spill over etc want to predict.. but again, too many questions there too... if quartely spillover or will happen in FY last quarter or something else... or .... The VB's / PD's etc.. nothing is going to make any difference and ease the pain of pending EB AOS applicants, unless there is change in law that would provide something to alleviate the EB backlog... By the way I took lots of photos in 2004 from Sears for Marriage proposals. Yeah I got marry last year because I sent Good quality photo to my in-law family. You see you get what you pay for..

CORE members, do you have any inputs here? It necessarily doesnot have to be agreeing with us, just that ur silence bothers me!
Considering the current economic situation, i donot expect much progress in addressing country quota elimination/CIR's.
We should atleast try to get our issues addressed in bits and pieces. Overall, anything to address retrogression should be welcomed! rather than 'debate and beat the horse to death.'
