Hello,
I got my new passport yesterday. CGI houston have sent it via Fedex. They also returned my old passport. So over all it took 11 business days, which is fair and quick.
It would be great if they have tracking system in their website so that everyone can know their status since passport is a valuable doucment.

Yes Lasantha. I am at NSC.
It seems from that USCIS is approving 2003 and 2004 and in April touched couple 2005 PDs with no particular order and without paying attention to RD. high priority is oldest PDs (2003 & 2004) that were stuck in Name Check and now in April since 2005 PD is current, it seems that they touched few of them too.

Would that be a good idea to contact sen. Kerry's office thanking him for the attempt and asking to re-introduce again?

I think Kerry(i think it is actually Kennedy E who introduced it - SA180 , SA 187 did not have anyhting to do with us it was for Women centers) di dnot have any good intentions for us in troducing this.If you see on Thomas(or congress.gov and search for HR2, see the fourth version, and check out amendments), SA180 was amendment to SA143 (this is by our friend Jeff Sessions). So most probably it was part of politics. Also this status says both these amendments wer eintroduced in Senate but thats it, they did not pass.

So what you are saying is, if one does not has the Vaccination record, concern DR would do this immunization (Antibody titer) test in place of vaccination record and can you confirm that you have gone thru exact scenario ?
I would say 90 % in the same boat :p No sweat. They will do an immunization test. You could even get the vaccinations taken

My perm labor was filed Tuesday evening and it was approved by Thursday evening. Perm labor was certified in 2 days. That was amazing!! :)

Folks, sorry I have not been in much action, with other stuff taking priority, but I would definitely like to know what it takes to do this? I have completely lost fitness due to bad lifestyle, long commutes to work, working spouse, small baby, and other tensions and I like this idea a lot.
Nolaindian - can you briefly explain how this marathon works? Does every city have a marathon to which we register, is it a community? Who sponsers? Do we do it as IV? Do we all form a group. Are the rules set by us? Do we pledge????
I can definitely start off with a short one - until I pick up on fitness :) Tri state members are more than welcome to join me :)

I renewed my passport last year. Initially I sent it to Houston consulate but I had sent with a NY address. So they sent everything back saying I have to approach NY consulate. But then again I sent to Houston with a Texas address. This time they processed it and sent my passport within 15 days. I think I also called them over the phone, and they patiently told me how long it might take to renew the passport.

I hope so. Some of my colleagues got their I-140 and I-485 approved at the same time when I-140 was filed with request to port earlier PD. I am hoping for the same...
Quick question; so when was your EB3 140 approved? or does it really have to be approved inorder to port to the EB2?
Can a person who only has labor approved under EB3 later port to that date if he were to get the labor approved under EB2?

Hi,
I am considering transferring my visa from H1B to H4. If in future I need to transfer my visa back to H1B, would I be in the 65000 quota even if I travel to India or outside US after transferring to H4?

What the point of meeting a law maker, exchange pleasantries? They aren't going to write a Bill because 1 person said so.
Read my post again, I am legal, EB2 India I-140 approved.
Repeat, Not associated with any lawyer or party.
I am trying to get people to join together - but you can't see that.
Of course. Go and exchange pleasantries. And then talk about the fact that you do not have greencard and need a bill from them. Why is it so hard for you? Can you not lobby for yourself first? We are all doing this and need more people like you to do it. But we will not pimp like you for any lawyer. In this country bills are written by lawmakers. Not your lawyer that filed your I140. You need to meet your lawmaker to help you. That is what we all are doing here. If you add yourself, to what we are doing then one more person will add to the effort we are doing. Please watch out anything that comes out of Senator Kennedy's office...
Some one in Kennedy's office is hell bent on getting rid of paragraph (5) in there....
paragraph (5) is the one that gave us the 'soft' country limits...

(B) Limiting fall across for certain countries subject to subsection (e) of this section
In the case of a foreign state or dependent area to which subsection (e) of this section applies, if the total number of visas issued under section 1153 (b) of this title exceeds the maximum number of visas that may be made available to immigrants of the state or area under section 1153 (b) of this title consistent with subsection (e) of this section (determined without regard to this paragraph), in applying subsection (e) of this section all visas shall be deemed to have been required for the classes of aliens specified in section 1153 (b) of this title.

My PERM was filed in Dec, 2006 and was denied on April, 2007. As per my employer's lawyer it was erroneously denied by DOL. The lawer has received the denial letter but no reason was stated. He was keep on follwing up with DOL but no answers. On Aug 2007, lawyer was followed up again directly with the DOL office in Atlanta , with the liaison at the American Immigration Lawyer's Association and also it was sent to the congressional office. Through Senetor we came to know that there was typo in the date field. The lawer is persuingto get the denal letter again with reason so that we can appeal. But we have 10% to get another deial letter. Now layer is asking for fillin a ner PERM. Inbetween I lost 8 months and now I'm running out time. My 6th year is expiring on Sept08. Just incase if we din't get denial letter and file the new PERM on Mrach can we get the 7th year extension ? (We will show all the documents etc for previos denail case and there was no reason in denail letter. PLEASE HELP.
